What happens after your appointment?

There are six possible outcomes. Each one is normal. Results can change over time, so regular monitoring is common.

  • A repeat pathology panel
  • Referral to an endocrinologist
  • Scheduled monitoring and review
  • Treatment, if deemed medically appropriate
  • No treatment

A very high or very low blood sugar reading needs urgent care now.

Your GP usually manages diagnosed diabetes. Your practitioner works alongside them.

Do I need blood tests before I book?

No. Bring any recent results. Your practitioner can request pathology on the call.

Why are there no reference ranges on this site?

Ranges vary between labs and people. Your practitioner explains your own result.

What if my results all come back normal?

That's useful to know. If symptoms continue, next steps may be your GP, a repeat test or a referral.
